Celebration of the Life of Laquetta "Q" Gildon will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Michael Green officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Gildon passed from this life on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at her home in Frederick at the age of 68 years and 6 months.
Laquetta (Acrey) Gildon was born on November 20, 1949, in Frederick to Willie and Mildred E. (Thomas) Acrey. She attended Boyd High and then Frederick High School where she graduated in 1968. She later went to USAO in Chickasha and then on to Draughon's Business School in Wichita Falls, Texas. Laquetta was united in marriage to Jackie Ray Gildon on August 26,1972, in Frederick. She worked for Centra Leather Goods before she and Jackie moved to California for a short time. They returned to Frederick and she went to work as a dispatcher for the Frederick Police Department. She then worked as a computer data processor for Schlegel, Inc. for over twenty-five years before her retirement. Jackie preceded her in death on April 6, 2013. Q enjoyed talking, cooking, baking, going to church and fixing everything she could get her hands on. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Living God.
She is survived by one son, Eric Keith Gildon and his wife Pearlie Brown of Liberty, Texas; one daughter, April Cornelia Gildon-Lowery of Frederick, Oklahoma; two brothers, Autry Acrey of Hawkins, Texas, and Thomas Keith Acrey and his wife Katie of Midland, Texas; one sister, Myra Gaines and her husband Wendell of Frederick, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Quin Marcel Johnson and his wife Marlen and TyJon Markeith Gildon; two great-grandchildren, Joaquin Marcel Johnson, Ashyia Miller Johnson; her last living aunt, Aunt Pearl; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other family members, and many friends, as well as her special friends, the Third Street Gang.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Mildred Acrey; and her husband, Jackie Ray Gildon.
