Obituary

Celebration of life for LeLear M. Johnson, age 81, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Missionary Church, 400 S. 1st in Frederick with Rev. Lloyd R. Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mrs. Johnson passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 12, 2017 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

LeLear Mae (Green) Johnson was born on February 21, 1936, in Leonard, Texas to Richard and Jimmye D. (Cummings) Green.  She attended Kennedy Elementary and graduated from Boyd High School in Frederick.  On July 7, 1966, she and Ray Johnson were united in marriage in Henrietta, Texas.  Mr. Johnson passed away on April 25, 2010.  She was employed by Factory Outlet, Schlegel, Inc., Bill's Dollar Store and Family Dollar Store in Frederick for many years.  A true lady! She was a loving, kind and had a wonderful sense of humor. LeLear was strong in her convictions; her bond was her word, she never wavered on her beliefs and always stood her ground. She was a sweet and caring person who put others before her own needs.  Her family, church and community was her joy!  She embraced them all, even by extension. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter; and enjoyed cooking and was well known for her pecan pies and carrot cakes.  She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Missionary Church in Frederick where she served as Chief Financial Officer, Church Mother and Deaconess.  She was the oldest living member of the church.

She is survived by one son, Raymond H. Johnson and his wife Brenda of Fayetteville, Georgia; three daughters, Patsy Martin of Wichita, Kansas, Zelda Fay Knight and her husband Ellis, Sr. of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Jaqueline Mora and her husband Miguel of Waterford, Mississippi; her adopted children, C.H. Wyatt, Jr. and his wife Debbi of Yukon, Oklahoma and Cecilia Wyatt Bradley and her husband Neal of Norman, Oklahoma; two sister, Dorothy Jones of Enid, Oklahoma and Robbye Whitfield of Lubbock, Texas; twenty-three grandchildren, Kerri Johnson, Raymonda Johnson, Sandra Lightner, Myrelissa Cropper, Tracey Tuttle, Wendolynne Curry, Gwendolynne Cole, Anthony  Johnson, JoEnne Johnson, Monnie Johnson, Jr., Ray Wheeler, Tez Montgomery, Tiffany Powell, Tera Montgomery, Kenya Holmers, Marcus Finney, Frank Finney, Jr., Micah Finney, Caleb Finney, Detra Franks, Ellis Knight, Jr., Shakitha Uchendu and DeShawn Harden; forty-five great-grandchildren, twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Johnson; three sons, Monnie Ray Johnson, Sr., Raymond Andrew Johnson and Willie Ray Johnson; four daughters, Wilma Ann Johnson, Jeraldine Johnson, Cynthia Johnson and Margeret Finney; and two brothers, Richard Green, Jr and J.W. Green.
