Obituary

Graveside service for lifelong Frederick resident, Letta Fay Fry, age 89, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the Hollister Cemetery, in Hollister, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Fry died Friday, December 3, 2021, at Waurika, Oklahoma.

Letta Fay (Fowler) Fry was born April 29, 1932, in Frederick, Oklahoma to Benton Eugene "Patch" and Hattie Mae (Jackson) Fowler.  She attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating from Frederick High School with the Class of 1951.  On September 11, 1951, she and William Thomas "Tom" Fry II were united in marriage in Fort Worth, Texas.  She worked at Centra Leather Goods and was co-manager of the Mistletoe Express in Frederick.  Letta was an Emergency Medical Technician and was one of four Advanced Cardiac Technicians in the State of Oklahoma at that time.  She later worked at the Tillman County Memorial Hospital as Purchasing Agent, until retirement.  Letta was always helping others.  She enjoyed her time as a EMT and loved to read.  She was a member of the Hollister Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana Wylie and her husband Pete of Eldorado, Oklahoma; one son William Thomas Fry, III, and his wife Sandy of Waurika, Oklahoma; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Anna Fry of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Tony Wylie and his wife Jessie, Willie Fry and his wife Amanda, and Donnie Fry; ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patch and Hattie Fowler; her husband, Tom Fry who preceded her in death on April 18, 1995; one granddaughter, Tammy Wylie Sebrant; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and William Akin and Letta's twin sister, Retta and Robert Wearmouth; one brother, Jackie Fowler; and one nephew, David Wearmouth.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer's Research or the Hollister Baptist Church.
