Obituary

Funeral service for Lewis Hamilton, age 79, of Frederick will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at First Baptist Missionary Church with Rev. Lloyd R. Logan officiating. Mr. Hamilton passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at his home in Frederick.

Lewis Hamilton was born on May 20, 1937 in Bristow, Oklahoma as a triplet to Sam Green and Pauline Hamilton. He grew up and attended school in Bristow, Oklahoma. He began working at an early age. He worked for J. & J. Restaurant and Krumme Oil Company in Bristow. After living in Jacksonville, Florida and in Wichita, Kansas for a short time, Lewis retired from Krumme Oil and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He united with Shiloh Baptist Church under Pastor M. Bailey. He became an active member of the choir and served on the deacon board until his illness. After suffering a stroke in 2004, he moved to Frederick to reside with his brother-in-law and sister, Rev. Lloyd and Oqunia Logan. He united with First Baptist Missionary Church in Frederick, where he became an active member in the Sunday School, NBC and bible study class as well as the Brotherhood. Lewis loved to travel with the Totress Brothers Quartet who traveled throughout the United States. Cooking and eating were his passions.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Oquina and Rev. Lloyd R. Logan of the home; nephews, Kenneth Logan and his wife Clara of Houston, Texas, Lloyd R. Logan, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, Rev. Michael and Carolyn Logan of Lawton, Oklahoma; nieces, Cynthia Benford and her husband Ernest of Moore, Oklahoma, Angela Logan of Denver, Colorado, Jacqueline Kelly and her husband Al of Lawton, Oklahoma and Jana Logan of Frederick, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Carol Parker of Henderson, Nevada and a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Hamilton; four brothers, Doyle Hill, Donald Parker, Tommy Turner and Leonard Hamilton; and one sister Yvonne Hamilton
