Funeral service for Linda Ann Jones, age 74, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, Frederick, Oklahoma, with Zack Mitchell, minister of Restoration Church, officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m., in Ft. Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road, Elgin, Oklahoma, under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Jones passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at her home in Frederick, Oklahoma.

Linda Ann Jones was born on June 6, 1949, in Little Rock, Arkansas to William and Elizabeth Ann (Wacter) Johnson.  She graduated from Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Missouri with the Class of 1967. Linda graduated from the University of Kansas City, and also attended  Research Nursing School in Kansas City, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Ronnie Eugene Jones on December 28, 1973, in Kansas City.  Linda worked as a nurse at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Oklahoma for 45 years.

Linda was a Poet Laureate who enjoyed writing poetry and had several of her writings published. She had a wonderful voice and enjoyed performing at any opportunity.  She also played the piano and classical guitar.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Ronnie Eugene Jones of the home; one son, Scott William Brown and his wife Angie of Hobart, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shannon Jones of Lawton, Oklahoma; one brother, Steve Johnson and his wife Mary in California; four grandchildren, Kristan Jones of Frederick, Oklahoma, Isiash Russell Jones of Lawton, Oklahoma, Helayna Brown of Hobart, Oklahoma, and Ben Brown of Hobart, Oklahoma; one niece, Lauren; one nephew, Patrick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Johnson, and her grandparents.
