Obituary

Graveside service for Mark Oxford age 64, of rural Frederick was held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 9, 2018, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Steven Werth officiating. Inurnment followed under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Oxford passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at his home.
Lloyd Mark Oxford was born on March 30, 1954, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and was adopted as a baby by Lloyd and Gladys (Rollins) Oxford. He attended Davidson Public School, graduating from Davidson High School in 1972. Early in life, his family took him to Southern California to meet his cousin Terri Ann (Peevyhouse) Werth. They played on the beaches of Long Beach and travelled to the San Bernardino mountains to visit Santa Claus at his village. Lake Texoma adventures were epic to the Oxford family. They spent many hours swimming, fishing and skiing at the lake. Mark eventually purchased his first motorcycle and Terri recalled one-time riding on the motorcycle with Mark, they skidded out on a gravel road resulting in minor exhaust pipe burns as they laid on the road laughing. After high school, Mark attended Oklahoma State University of Agriculture and Applied Science where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1976. He held various jobs after graduation, including managing a Long John Silvers restaurant in Dallas, Texas. Later around 1989, he relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he completed 325 hours of study at the Nevada Gaming School, where he graduated as a Slot Machine Technician.
Mark eventually returned to his hometown of Frederick. Although he loved Denver, Colorado and hoped to move there someday, he chose to stay close to his parent's home on the farm. He loved his music, movies, motorcycles, and dogs. Half Pint, Doggie, and Girl became his constant companions. During his mother Gladys' final years, Mark cared for her to the best of his abilities.
He is survived by a cousin, Terri Ann Werth and her husband Steven of San Diego, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Gladys Oxford.
