Obituary

Funeral service for Gayle Edwards age 76, of Frederick will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Chandler and Rev. Johnny Flores officiating.  Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.  Mr. Edwards passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at his home.

Loren Gayle Edwards was born June 19, 1939, in Bowie, Texas to Virgil Ray and Lorena Louise Lucille (Hachtel) Edwards.  Gayle attended schools in Oklaunion, Texas and California before returning to Frederick where he attended Frederick High School. On July 7, 1962, he and Carolyn Kay Testerman were united in marriage in Frederick.   He worked for several years for Frank's T.V. in Frederick, before going into business for himself.  He owned and operated Gayle's T.V. and Edwards Satellite for many years.  Gayle retired in 2000 and took up the hobby of trading. Carolyn preceded him in death on November 24, 2006.  He later married Shirlene Cargile on April 27, 2007, in Davidson, Oklahoma.  He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Lighthouse Chapel Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by two sons. Rodney Gayle Edwards of Frederick, Oklahoma  and Martin Dale Edwards and his wife Mary Lou of Duncan, Oklahoma;  one daughter, Sherri Lynn Watson of Azle, Texas; two sisters, Darlene "Sugar" Mitchell and Teresa Rhodes both of Frederick, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Frances Edwards of Yale, Oklahoma; two brothers, Alvie Ray Edwards and his wife Rita of Vernon, Texas and Terry Wayne Edwards and his wife Janice of Bethany, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Sara Copeland, Jordan, Timothy, Elizabeth and Madison Edwards, Alexis Flores, Dillon and Amber Watson, Austin Edwards and Desirae Calvin; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very very special friend, Shirlene Cargile.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carolyn Edwards, one son, Jerry Allen Edwards, one grandson, Cody Allen Edwards; and two brothers, Virgil LaGrande Edwards and Carroll Flynn Edwards.
