Funeral service for Lou Ann McIntyre, age 66, of Frederick will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2022, at Jackson Funeral Home with Pastor Victor West officiating.  Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Ms. McIntyre passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder, Oklahoma.

Lou Ann "Monkey" McIntyre was born on November 25, 1955 to John Wesley and Jessie Mae (Harkins) McIntyre in Frederick, Oklahoma.  She attended Kennedy Elementary and Boyd High School where she graduated with Class of 1974.  She united with the First Baptist Missionary Church at an early age.  On January 17, 1980, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Shannon LaSha McIntrye.

Monkey lived her life on her terms; always welcoming the opportunity to provide care for any children in need. On February 20, 2022, she was called home allowing her soul to be at peace and her body to be at rest.  Lou Ann was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Ronnie Mayfield and Eddie Ray Mayfield.

She is survived by her daughter, Shannon McIntrye of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Jessie McIntyre, D'esha Johnson, Shabreea Henderson, Janiyah McVay and Korrion McVaye;  one brother, Jerry Mayfield; four sisters, Linda Isham and husband Curtis of Frederick, Oklahoma, Sandra Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Sylvia Calip of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Inell Moore and husband Don of Midwest City, Oklahoma; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; one special friend, Cheryl Simms; and a special niece, Tamika Toombs of Vernon, Texas.
