Louella (Stoll)
Hall
Apr 7, 1939 — Jul 10, 2024
Broken Arrow
Louella Elizabeth (Stoll) Hall passed peacefully on July 10, 2024, at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age 85.
Louella is survived by her husband of 64 years, Randal Hall; her son, Michael Hall, and daughter-in-law, Cara Shimkus Hall of Tulsa; grandchildren, Joseph Randal Hall and Alexander Michael Hall; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Randall Hall; father, John Wilhelm Stoll; mother, Marie (Schreiner) Stoll; siblings, Emma (Stoll) Harris, Ernest Ruben Stoll, Elsie (Stoll) Hoover, and John Vernon Stoll.
Louella was born on the Stoll family farm east of Manitou, Oklahoma. She graduated from Manitou High School in 1957 and married Randal on September 16, 1961. They began a life together that took them to locations across the United States through Randal's career in the United States Navy and subsequently for defense contractors. However, Louella and Randal committed to maintaining a home in Manitou while Michael and Mark were in elementary and high school.
Louella dedicated herself to family and partnership with Randal. She watched over the home with strength and courage during Randal's lengthy overseas deployments and duty assignments. She attended and supported hundreds of sports, Boy Scouts, school, and church events. When the boys were grown, Louella and Randal moved frequently and lived around the United States in Meridian, Mississippi; Jacksonville, Florida; and Houton, Texas. In 2004, they relocated to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and began a well-deserved period of retirement in proximity to their grandchildren and wonderful neighbors.
Louella intensely loved her children and grandchildren, as well as her siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She enjoyed quilting and was a life-long avid reader. She was an excellent student, recognized as valedictorian of her 8th-grade class and salutatorian of her high school class.
Louella would never brag or talk about her accomplishments. She had a life-long talent for math and accounting. While working as a young bank teller in La Jolla, California, Dr. Jonas Salk insisted on coming to her teller window every time he went to the bank because she did not make calculation errors.
Louella had a sharp wit and an incredible sense of humor. She would privately and humbly help anyone in need. She had a deep Christian faith incubated early on by her family and at the Manitou United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tillman County Historical Society, P.O. Box 833, Frederick, Oklahoma 73542
