Graveside service for Loyd H. Atkison, age 94, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Atkison passed away at his home on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

Loyd Hansel Atkison was born on September 12, 1924 in Frederick, Oklahoma to William Jacob and Minnie Alice (Holden) Atkison. He attended Weaver School and graduated from Weaver High School in 1942. He was united in marriage to Cecil Ione Taylor on March 17, 1946 in Frederick. She preceded in death on November 21, 2005. Loyd worked for the Frederick Post Office for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frederick.

He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Feather and husband Dan of Menard, Texas; two grandchildren, Daniel Feather and wife Brooke of Houston, Texas and Catherine Kraft of Corsicana, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Kraft, Lily Feather and Brette Feather; and one niece Janice Scanlan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ione Atkison; three brothers, Elvin, Royce and Claus Atkison; and two sisters, Nellie Wooldridge and Lorene Atkison.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Nutrition Center in memory of Loyd Atkison.
