Funeral service for Lutherine M. Wright, age 99, of Davidson will be on 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Wright passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Memorial Hospital & Physician Group in Frederick. Lutherine Modena Dobbs Wright was born on September 19, 1916 near Davidson, Oklahoma to Luther Colombus and Walsie (Willis) Dobbs. She attended school in Davidson and graduated from Davidson High School with the Class of 1934. She received her Bachelor Degree in Education from Edmond Teachers College. Lutherine was teaching in Childress, Texas when she married Thomas Harper Wright on November 30, 1942, in Texas City, Texas. She quit teaching for some time until Frank Williams asked her to begin again. She taught many grades in the elementary and then decided to get her Master's Degree in Special Education from Southwestern State University in Weatherford. Lutherine retired after teaching for thirty years. Tom preceded her in death on June 5, 2013. Lutherine was known for her pie baking. She was an artist who loved to paint and sketch. She was also an avid reader and loved to play bridge. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Lutherine is survived by one son, Stuart Wright & wife Lyn of Aubrey, Texas; one daughter, Jan Lane & husband Fred of Bushland, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Qualls, Jayme Culbreath and Su Clifton all of Frederick; eight grandchildren, Tara Lane, Jessica Lane, Berkley Lane, Nicole Adams and husband Dale, Libby Lane, Rebecca Lane, Erica McCrary & husband Mike and Luke Wright; four great-grandchildren, Davis & Sienna McCrary, Eli Walker and Grace and Luke Adams; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Gerald Vance Dobbs and a grandson, Zachary Lane. Jackson Funeral Home 580-335-7447
