Marlene Mae Stevens was born on November 17, 1943 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Otis Jessie and Orva Alice(Stout) Fillmore. She attended Hollister School before transferring to Frederick where she graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1961. She was united in marriage to Tex Hutson Stevens on May 26, 1961 in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2004. Marlene worked beside Tex on the farm and later owned and operated Stevens Boot and Saddle Shop. In 1990, they moved to Midland, Texas and opened the second saddle shop. After they moved back to Frederick in 1996, Marlene went to work for Tillman County District I and then retired in 2010. She is survived by two sons, Stoney Stevens and his wife Tracey and Rickey Stevens and his wife Belinda all of Frederick; one brother, Rex Fillmore of Frederick; two sisters, Patsy Bradley of Elgin, and Linda Callaham and her husband Gary of Blanchard; four grandchildren, Skylar Fleck and husband Nathan, Codey Stevens, Doree Stevens and Fallon Love and husband Charley; three great-grandchildren, Kayden and Brentley Fleck and Brodie Love. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Cloy and Raymond Fillmore; and one sister, Clara Ross. Jackson Funeral Home 923 W.
