Obituary

Private Graveside Service for Marvin Ray "Buddy" Holland age 83, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2020, in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.  Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mr. Holland passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the United Regional Health Care Center in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Marvin Ray "Buddy" Holland was born March 26, 1937, in Davidson, Oklahoma to Marvin Gilbert "Bud" and Berta Lillian (Waldrop) Holland.  He attended Davidson Public Schools, graduating from Davidson High School in 1955.  He later attended Oklahoma University in Norman and received a bachelor degree in Aeronautical Science.  On September 5, 1958, he and Charlene Dill were united in marriage in Frederick, Oklahoma.  Buddy worked for many years as a Structural Engineer where he designed heat exchangers, pressure vessels and was an intrical part of the Saturn and Apollo programs for McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Company.  In 2013, they moved to Frederick from Charlie, Texas where he served as Elder of the Church of Christ for many years.  He enjoyed reading his Bible and was currently a member of the Church of Christ in Snyder, Oklahoma.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlene Holland of the home; one daughter, Serena Beaver and her husband Damon of Scottville, Michigan; one brother, Lonnie Holland and his wife Linda of Norman, Oklahoma; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law:  Charles Dill, Pat Dill, and Rodney and Reta Dill; four grandsons, Clinton Payton, Brandon Beaver and his wife Janelle, Bryson Beaver and his wife Kristin and Braden Beaver and his wife Kayla; three great-granddaughters, Margo Beaver, Marcy Beaver and Meara Beaver; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Lillian Holland; one daughter, Brenna Holland Payton; one son, Marvin Ray "Vin" Holland; and his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby Dill, Billy and Marie Dill, and Doug Dill.
