Celebration of Life for Mary Louise Cheatham age 78, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the Lois Long Center in Frederick. Mary Lou passed away October 5, 2019, at her home.

Mary Louise (Hood) Cheatham was born July 6, 1941, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Colonel Robert B. and Hazel (McMinn) Hood. Mary Lou was a Pearl Harbor survivor; her parents were stationed at Schofield Barracks at the time of her birth. She attended Webb City High School, graduating in 1959; and later attended Mount Carmel School of Nursing, receiving a Registered Nurses Degree in 1961. Mary Lou later graduated from Wesley Medical Center School of Anesthesia in Wichita, Kansas as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

She is survived by one sister, Margaret "Mitzi" Huffman and her husband Dr. Larry Huffman of Branson, Missouri; three nephews, Robert Huffman and his wife Erica of Springfield, Missouri, Matt Huffman and his wife Pam of Springfield, Missouri and Tom Huffman and his wife Debbie of Lee's Summit, Missouri; several great-nephews, and great-niece; and several special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel Robert and Hazel Hood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Frederick Arts Council, or a charity of your choice, in memory of Mary Louise Cheatham.
