Celebration of Life for Melvin Tracy Newman, age 64, of Frederick, OK entered his eternal, Heavenly home peacefully on January 11, 2023, at home surrounded by his wife, children & grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, January 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Frederick with Rev. Les Banks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with full fireman honors

Tracy was born on November 14, 1958, in Frederick, OK to Chevy and Juanita Newman. After graduating from Frederick High School in 1977, he attended Aero Tech Academy in Wichita Falls, TX with plans of becoming an aircraft mechanic until the school was destroyed in a fire, along with all his records, prompting him to change his career path. He returned to Frederick and worked as a parts specialist at numerous auto and implement businesses. His passion for cars led him to be an expert mechanic for the majority of his life. He started his career as a firefighter in 1985 at the Frederick Fire Department, where he retired as Chief in 2012. He was also the proud owner and operator of Newman's Fire Extinguishers from 1993-2022.

He was united in marriage to Penny Sanders on January 29, 1981, in Vernon, TX. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Amanda & Katie.

His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, perhaps his grandkids a little extra! He was a devoted husband, father and papa who loved and was loved immensely.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Penny of the home, two daughters: Amanda Blankenship and husband Dusty and Katie Newman both of Frederick; eight grandchildren: Maggie Clemente and husband Amado, Dyson Blankenship and wife Ravin, Zoe Gonzales, Caroline Newman, Evan Gonzales, Alexander Kail, Owen Blankenship & Marlee Stultz; sisters-in-law Sandie Cotten and husband Tommy of Frederick and Hidy Thompson and husband Ron of Bozeman, MT; brother-in-law Keith Thomas of Frederick; a host of nieces and nephews; Beverly Britton who he loved like a daughter and lifetime friends Ricky Dale, Rickey Bolles & Danny Rogers.

Welcoming him at the gates of Heaven were his parents Chevy & Nita Newman and in-laws Bob & Carol Griffith.

A true servant at heart, Tracy was a stranger to no one and a friend to many. His legacy and beautiful memories will last a lifetime.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Fire Department in honor of Melvin Tracy Newman.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 15 ^th from 4:00-5:00 pm at Jackson Funeral Home.
