Obituary

Graveside service for Nadine Louise Combest Claunch, age 90, of Carnegie, Oklahoma will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the Carnegie Cemetery with Pastor George Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Nadine passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital in Carnegie, Oklahoma.

Nadine Louise (Lindsey) Combest Claunch was born March 14, 1931, to Noel Sherman and Cora Ellen (Robertson) Lindsey.  She attended Nelda School south of Carnegie prior to transferring to Carnegie High School.  On June 18, 1947, she and Lloyd Merl Combest were united in marriage.  To this union, four children were born.  Three sons:  Bobby Wyatt "Jumpy" Combest, Rocky Lynn Combest, and Aaron Brady Combest.  One daughter, Eugenia Kay (Combest) White.  In her younger years, she cooked in many cafes, drive-ins, and restaurants in Carnegie.  She was preceded in death by her first husband on March 10, 1980.  On February 14, 1997, she married Jack Duane Claunch in Vernon, Texas.  She enjoyed her flowers and working in her yard.  Nadine was an avid watcher of the "Wheel of Fortune" and circling "Word Find Puzzle", but dancing was her passion.  She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Carnegie, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her two sons, Rocky Lynn Combest of Vinita, Oklahoma and Aaron Brady Combest of Lawton, Oklahoma; one daughter, Eugenia Kay White of Kingston, Oklahoma; one grandson, Troy Bradley; four granddaughters, Krista Combest, Kasey Combest, Ambress Pixley, and Chrystal Hulsey; eleven great-grandchildren; and host of great friends who will miss her smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Cora Lindsey; her husbands, Lloyd Merle Combest and Jack Duane Claunch; one son, Bobby Wyatt "Jumpy" Combest; one great-granddaughter, Samanatha Bush; and three brothers, Billy Gene Lindsey, J.B. "Bobby" Lindsey, and Guy Dewayne Lindsey.
