Memorial service for Nancy Louise (Varner) Johnson, age 68, of Saginaw, Texas will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 West Gladstone, Frederick, with Rev. Les Banks officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.  Mrs. Johnson passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Fresenius Kidney Care Center in Haltom City, Texas.

Nancy Louise was born on October 14, 1954, in Norman, Oklahoma to Jack Newton and Joyce Lavelle (Brittain) Varner.  She attended Grandfield Public Schools, graduating from Grandfield High School with the Class of 1973.  She later attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education.   On September 2, 1984, she and James Tobey "Jim" Johnson were united in marriage at Grandfield, Oklahoma.  Nancy enjoyed "cooking healthy" for her family and could spend hours at a time looking through cookbooks.  She loved growing vegetables and beautiful flowers in her garden, as long as her health would permit.  Nancy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Johnson of the home; her mother, Joyce Varner of Grandfield, Oklahoma; two daughters, Donna Joyce Johnson and Rebeka Brittainy of Saginaw, Texas; two sons, Jason Adam Johnson and his wife, Yulanda of Fort Worth, Texas, and Joshua Ryan Johnson and his wife, Melissa of Bentonville, Arkansas; a brother, Thomas Keith Varner and his wife Lori of Frederick, Oklahoma; a sister, Jana Lee Meinzer and her husband Kevin of Lockett, Texas; five grandchildren, Alex Johnson and Zachary Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, Caden Johnson, Rylan Johnson, and Norah Johnson of Bentonville, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Varner; a sister, Leesa Varner; a brother, Douglas Varner; and one nephew, Brent Varner.
