Patricia Sue Cowden Gause was born on March 21 , 1940, in Davidson to George D. and Fern Allyn (Spraggins) Cowden. She attended school in Davidson where she graduated from Davidson High School in 1958. She continued her education at Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She later attended Avila State University in Kansas City, Missouri where she received her Master's Degree in Psychology. She was in a long term loving relationship with Don Roberson who was her soul mate. She worked as psychologist for Vernon State Hospital and later transferred to the children's unit of the Wichita Falls State Hospital.

She is survived by her longtime soul mate, Don Roberson of Vernon; two sons, Chris Gause and his wife Sylvia of Houston, Texas and Michael Gause and his wife Gia of Singapore; one daughter Sherri Hoover and her husband Mark of Richardson, Texas; one brother, George Cowden and his wife Marsha of Davidson; six grandchildren, Ashley and Ben Hoover, Ian and Kyra Gause, Nicole Ruiz and Marissa Gause.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
