Funeral service for Paula S. Cross, age 59, of Frederick will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Frederick with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Cross passed away on Friday evening, September 26, 2014 in Memorial Hospital in Frederick. Paula Sue Albert Cross was born on December 21, 1954 in Frederick to Paul William and Thelma Louise (Barnard) Albert. She attended Frederick Public Schools and graduated from Frederick High School in 1973. She later continued her education at Western Oklahoma State College. On April 19, 1985, she was united in marriage to J. R. Cross in Vernon, Texas. She had worked at Albert's Electric, Gibsons and Frederick Public Schools as a substitute teacher. Most recently Paula had worked as a truck broker for Shan Trucking of Tipton and Swan Transportation of Tyler, Texas. She enjoyed camping, fishing and watching game shows. Paula loved to read, crochet and cook for her family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frederick where she was active for many years. She is survived by her husband J. R. Cross of the home; two sons, Michael Bates and Jason Bates both of Frederick; one daughter, Michelle Green and her husband Justin of Frederick; and one granddaughter, Terra Morrison of Frederick She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Judith Barnard; four brothers, Gordon Albert, Clarence Tyler, Jimmy Tyler & Roy Tyler.
