Word has been received of the death of Ray Every Priest, age 88, of Hollister, Oklahoma. He passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in a Lawton hospital. A service will be held at a later date.

Ray Emery Priest was born on November 24, 1927 to Roy J. and Esther (Wilkerson) Priest in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended Pampa Public Schools, graduating from Pampa High School in 1944. He later joined the United States Navy during World War II. On September 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Meredith Maxine Turner in Pampa, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2005. He had worked as a truck driver for Shamrock Oil & Gas Company in Dumas, Texas. He and his wife had managed a R.V. park in Donna, Texas for over twenty years. They also loved to travel.

He is survived by one daughter, Perrie Renfro of Hollister; by one son, Wayne Priest of Hollister; one sister, Bernice Chandler of Kenniwick, Washington; a cousin, Sonny Sawyer of Pampa, Texas; three grandchildren, DeeAnn Hannick and husband Michael of Greenwood, Arkansas, Shunda Brown and husband Shawn of Frederick and Rhonda Clark of Lubbock, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Chance Renfro, Dakkota & Shianne Cordova, Ashley, Miranda & Heston Brown, Tommy and Paige Robinson; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.
