Funeral service for Raymond Charles "R.C." Rothell, age 79, of rural Frederick, Oklahoma will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 am at Bible Baptist Church, Frederick, Oklahoma with Rev. Brent Morey and Bro. James Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.  Mr. Rothell passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at his home west of Frederick, Oklahoma.

Raymond Charles Rothell was born August 4, 1944, in San Francisco, California to Raymond Carlyle and Willie Syble (Avery) Rothell.  He and Judy Jeneva Mathews were married August 16, 1963, in Frederick, Oklahoma. R.C. worked as a carpenter and mechanic. He worked for a grocery store while living in Ft. Worth, Texas. R.C. worked for Dallas Airmotive when they returned to Frederick, Oklahoma. He worked at Cassidy's grain elevator during wheat harvest. He retired from the City of Frederick where he was a foreman for the Water Department.

He loved hunting and fishing. R.C. coached peewee football for several years. He helped build the Bomber Spirit plane and was a member of the Quarterback Club.   He was also a member of the Civil Defense organization. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Frederick, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his son, Jonathan Rothell and wife Christine of Gueda Springs, Kansas; four daughters, Stephanie Ellis and husband Jeff of Frederick, Oklahoma, Renee Ballard and husband John of Frederick, Oklahoma, Sharon Jessip and husband Sean of Oskaloosa, Kansas, and Karen Knox and husband Kevin of Altus, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren, James Ellis and wife Jacklyn, Alia Lingle and husband Matt, David Rothell and wife Sarah, Kayla McAfee and husband Jacob, Judy Fortunas and husband Matthew, Patricia Montgomery and husband Michael, Sabryn Furrh and husband Trent, Tessa Ryan and husband Revis, Skyla Guillen and husband Ivan, Cassi Janz and husband Drew, Quinton Ballard and wife Leah, Mickey Maldonado and wife Malina, Niki Maldonado, Anthony Maldonado and wife McEnzzy Majors, Jocelyn Jessip, Andrea Pantan and husband Jayson, Dessirea Craw and husband Nick, and Kendra Matherly and husband Will; 39 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Blankenship and her husband Junior of Frederick, Oklahoma and Frances Edwards of Cushing, Oklahoma; his faithful companion, Happy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Willie; wife, Judy; brother, Joe Dean; and sister, Janie Sebree.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday evening, September 8, 2023, at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
