Obituary

Funeral service for Richard Wayne Hutson, age 77, of Davidson, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick with Brother Frank Hefner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Grandfield Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mr. Hutson passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Wilbarger Regional Hospital in Vernon, Texas.

Richard Wayne Hutson was born July 9, 1944, in Vancouver, Washington, to Travis Earl and Wilma (Lee) Hutson.  He attended Grandfield Public Schools.  Richard worked as railroad maintenance supervisor for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, better know as "The Katy Railroad.  On July 11, 2008, he and Carolyn Sue Kinder were united in marriage in Vernon, Texas. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his ATV on the river, and working on his 1955 Chevy Belair, which was his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Hutson; one daughter, Sandra Rodriguez and her husband Jerry of Frederick, Oklahoma;  three step-children, Cheryl West of Bryson, Texas, Ben Scott and his wife Kristal of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and LaWayne Collins of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers, Willie Vann and his wife Deana, and Jimmy Vann; two sister, Linda Felter and her husband David, and Velma Geis and her husband Ray; three grandchildren, Trenton Jensen, Larry Wayne Rodriguez, and Porsha Rodriguez; nine step-grandchildren, Kristyn West, Clint West, Matthew Stephen West, Tanner Scott, Emily Mills, Hannah Goff, Larissa Elmore, Cindy Morgan, and Matthew Wayne Morgan; one great-granddaughter, Maisyn Rodriguez; and eleven step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Hutson; one son, Larry Wayne Hutson, and one brother, Kenneth Vann.

The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday evening, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel.
