Richard Eugene Marshall, Sr.

Funeral service for Richard E. Marshall, Sr., age 77, of Davidson will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Marshall passed away on Tuesday evening, November 15, 2016 at his home in Davidson.

Richard Eugene Marshall was born on December 3, 1938 in Davidson, Oklahoma to Richard Leon and Nellie Violet (McKinney) Marshall. He attended school at Victory Consolidated #11 and Davidson Public School. He later attended Lawton Business School. He was united in marriage to Ann Phelps on December 31, 1955 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Richard had worked for Dutch Stout on the farm for over 30 years. After Dutch became County Commissioner, Richard began working for Tillman County District #2. He had served as Road Foreman for over twenty years before retiring in 2012. Richard became a trustee for the Town of Davidson in 2005. He was elected mayor in 2008 and was currently serving in that position.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; three sons, Marty Marshall and his wife Christina of Frederick, Richard Marshall, Jr. of Davidson and Patrick Marshall and his wife Lacy of Davidson; two daughters, Nannette Dilday and her husband Chuck of Vernon, Texas and Annise Marshall of Frederick; one brother, Eldon Marshall of Pickett, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol and J. D. Edwards of Richardson, Texas, Sally and Joe Tolleson of Garland, Texas, Jesse (Butch) Phelps of Electra, Texas, Gerald Hogan of Lawton and Frankie Marshall of Yukon; ten grandchildren, De De Marshall; Samantha Marshall, Savannah Duke, Marty Richard Marshall, Dustin Rivera, Dustin Halberg, Patrick Marshall, Jr. Emma Marshall and Paige Marshall; six great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Zayden & Peyton Duke, Anneesha Bradley and Jesse Howard; a special little friend, Jaime; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Violet Marshall; one sister, Fern Hogan, one brother, Wesley Marshall; sisters-in-law, Betty & Judy Marshall and Peggy Phelps.
