Funeral service for Ronald McDonald, age 80, of Lawton, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church, 315 W. Sycamore Ave., Duncan, Oklahoma, with Pastor Melvin Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson Harris Cemetery, Duncan, under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. McDonald passed away peacefully on Friday evening, July 19, 2024, at a Lawton health care center.
Ronald McDonald was born March 13, 1944, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Rex and Mary Lou (Weaver) McDonald. He attended Douglas Elementary and graduated from Douglas High School in Lawton. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Ronald worked as Pipeline Operator for Sun Oil Company in Meridian, Oklahoma, and later transferred to Cushing, Oklahoma, where he retired with 32 years of service. On August 1, 1986, he and Edna Jean Chaney were united in marriage in Lawton, Oklahoma. Edna preceded him in death on October 3, 2022. He attended Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Lawton.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Marshall of Lawton, Oklahoma; one son, Ronald McDonald, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma; one daughter, Marilyn Calvin and her husband Calvin of Duncan, Oklahoma; three step-children, Julian Chaney of Los Angles, California, Darrin "Red" Chaney and his wife Eva, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kathy Williams of Duncan, Oklahoma; one brother, Michael Marshall of Lawton, Oklahoma; one sister, Kimberly Finley and her husband Donnie of Lawton, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ronnie Doddles, Diamond Edwards, Precious Bookman, Ze'Toria Calvin, and A'Ja Calvin; five great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends
He was preceded in death by his father, Rex McDonald; his wife, Edna McDonald; two brothers, Lawrence McDonald and Melvin Marshall.
