Funeral service for former Tipton resident, Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Rogers, age 55, of Lubbock, Texas will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Tipton with Rev. Kolby Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Rogers passed away on Tuesday evening, August 19, 2014 in a Lubbock hospital. Ronald Lee Rogers was born on July 15, 1959 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Donald Lewis and Lois Fern (Nunley) Rogers. He attended Tipton Public Schools and graduated from Tipton High School in 1977. He had served in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Kimberly Kay Lawson on February 18, 1989 in Tipton, Oklahoma. Ronnie had worked for Southwest Rural Electric as a lineman for several years. He enjoyed fishing as well as all sports. His granddaughter, Brelynn was the love of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vernon, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Kim Rogers of the home; his mother, Lois Rogers of Altus; two sons, Tyler Rogers of Los Angeles, California and Kolby Rogers of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Kaylee Rogers of Lubbock; one brother, Jerry Rogers of Frederick; two sisters, Cindy Wofford and her husband Charles and Debra Robbins all of Manitou; one granddaughter, Brelynn Rogers and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Rogers; and grandparents, Hardy & Florence Rogers, Carl & Pearl Nunley and Blanchard Russell.
