Celebration of Life for Rosa Linda Cortez, age 75, of Davidson, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick, Oklahoma with Saul Ochoa officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery. Rosa went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls, Texas. A visitation will be Friday evening, May 31, 2024, at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Rosa Linda (Lopez) Cortez was born January 13, 1949, in Kingsville, Texas, to Juan G. and Isabel (Machado) Lopez. She attended schools in Posey and Lubbock, Texas. On July 17, 1964, she and Paulo Cortez were united in marriage in Lamesa, Texas. Mr. Cortez preceded her in death on April 9, 2022. Rosa was a stay-at-home wife and mother; her family was her pride and joy. She was a true Christian lady! She was a member of The Church of God of The Firstborn.
She is survived by two sons, Hector Cortez (Karen Brady) of Davidson, Oklahoma, and Jeremiah Cortez and his wife Toni of Vernon, Texas; six daughters, Dora Cortez of Wichita Falls, Texas, Irene Davis and her husband Jameson of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Irma Cortez of Wichita Falls, Texas, Becky Franklin and her husband Michael of Baker City, Oregon, Phoebe Cortez of Vernon, Texas, and Priscilla Cortez of Midwest City, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law. Maryann Cortez of Brownfield, Texas; one brother, Luis Fuentes of Lubbock, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Isabel Lopez; her husband, Paulo Cortez; one daughter, Esther Cortez; one son, Ismael Cortez; one great-granddaughter, Ember Langley; two sisters, Julia Ramirez, and Elizabeth Levels; and three brothers, Tiofilo Lopez, Juan Lopez, Jr., and Joe Lopez.
