Lynn Rudd officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. On wednesday March 4, 2015, he gave up his valiant fight with Pancreatic cancer, joined his Savior as he entered the pearly gates and claimed his mansion in heaven. R.T. was born March 20, 1934, to Reuben and Effie Crawford Perry in Hope Oklahoma near Marlow. At the age of 17, R.T. joined the United States Air Force. After basic training, he hitched hiked from Sumpter South Carolina back to his home town, Tipton Oklahoma to ask his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Eunice Faye Swann, for her hand in marriage. On September 9,1952, they exchanged vows before the justice of the peace in Vernon Texas where they became husband and wife and thus their adventure began. R.T. and Eunice were to be blessed with four children, Robert, Ronald, Donna and Denise. Together they moved around the United States serving in Sumpter South Carolina, Victoria Texas, Newfoundland Canada, San Antonio Texas, Tampa Florida, and Spokane Washington. R.T. also served in Alaska and Vietnam earning numerous awards and commendations for his expertise in his field. In 1971, after 20 years of honorable military service he and his family retired from the Air Force and moved back to their hometown of Tipton. R.T. put to good use all the skills he acquired during his military service and together he, Eunice and the children opened a total of five very successful restaurants in Altus, Frederick and Tipton areas. Although he was successful in his every endeavor he still felt something missing in his life. After a lot of soul searching and prayer he surrendered his life to the ministry of his Lord and Savior. R.T. and Eunice served the Lord together in the Methodist faith in Alfalfa, Jay, Westville, Cache, Manitou, Elmer and Tipton. On June 16 2007, Eunice succumbed to Parkinson's disease fulfilling her earthly calling and entered into her heavenly reward. Eunice's death left R.T. with a huge void in his life and a hole in his heart. He poured himself into the one thing he loved the most preaching the word of the Lord. On May 5, 2010, he and Reva Hines were united in marriage at Altus, Oklahoma. Reva filled a small corner of the hole in his heart not only as his wife and business partner but also eventually, as his caregiver. He and Reva saw a need in their community and filled the gap by opening the Tipton Hardware store which they ran together until they sadly had to close the doors due to R.T.'s failing health. R. T. continued preaching until his health would not allow him to stand before his congregation. He never gave up the hope of returning to the pulpit. Even the last week of his life he stated, "I'm going to get well and I'm going to preach again". R.T. was an amazing example of integrity, loyalty and commitment. His word was his bond. He is survived by his wife Reva of the home; four children, Robert Perry and his wife Paula of Savannah, Georgia, Ronnie Perry and his wife Marvanna of Jones, Oklahoma, Donna Altom and her husband Donald of Hollis, Oklahoma, and Denise Knight and her partner Sandy of Alma, Arkansas; three step-children, Mitchell Hines and his wife Brenda of San Antonio, Texas, Mark Hines and his wife Sonya of Frisco, Texas, and Rhonda Hines Hukill and her husband James of Navajo, Oklahoma; two sisters Verna Mae Stewart of Wichita Falls Texas, and Imogene Moran and her husband Donald of Altus, Oklahoma; three brothers, Johnny Ray Perry and his wife Nellie of Snyder, Oklahoma, J.B Perry and his wife Neva of Cache, Oklahoma and Jack Perry of Oak Point Texas; ten grandchildren, Cheryl Perry Harper and her husband Brian, Robert Perry III, Jimae Perry Eakins and her husband Ryan, James Robert Perry and his wife Eliza, D'Ann Altom, Nicki Altom Lathery and her husband Matt, Danyle Altom, Jonathan Altom and spouse Monica Roblez, Kara Iribarren Barnes and spouse Brant, and Kendra Iribarren; three step- grandchildren, Kim Hines Smith and her husband Landon, and Jake and Logan Hukill; and twelve great-grandchildren, Colton Harper; Judson, Graham and Rylinn Eakins; Mark, Mason and Maggie Perry; Anna Lathery; Evelynn Altom; Mason, Truman and Josie Faye Barnes; one step-great-grandchild, Linley Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He has been received into the arms of his Lord and Savior and heard the voice of the Lord declare "well done my good and faithful servant". Jackson Funeral Home 580-335-7447
