Funeral services for Ryan Huff, age 51, of Tipton, Oklahoma, will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 300 E. Davis Avenue, Tipton, Oklahoma, with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Ryan passed away at his home west of Tipton on Monday, November 13, 2023.
Ryan Dirk Huff was born November 1, 1972, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Marvin Douglas and Ellyn Marye (Van Groningen) Huff. He was the youngest of their four children. Ryan attended Tipton Public Schools, graduating as Valedictorian of the Class of 1991. After high school, he continued his education at the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems. He also secured an internship at Schlegel's Automotive in Frederick, Oklahoma, during his first year of college.
Ryan's background of growing up in Tipton and working with his family gave him a strong work ethic. While at OU, he had a job at Lens Crafters in the Crossroads Mall. He then became a counselor at Norman Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center for several years. With his computer skills, he started working with LexisNexis in Oklahoma City as a Bankruptcy Data Analyst. He remained in the Norman area until his dad's health declined. Ryan moved back to Tipton to help care for his dad, and also help with the family farm and ranch. He found that he really enjoyed their cow/calf operation, feeding cows and all that goes with tending to a herd of cattle. He was a loyal Sooner fan and a member of the OU Alumni Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tipton.
Ryan is survived by his Mother, Ellyn Huff of Tipton; two brothers, Mark Huff and Holly Wilkes of Purcell, Oklahoma, and Craig Huff and his wife, Teressa, of Tipton, Oklahoma; his five nieces and nephews, whom he loved like his own, Shaela Cobb and her husband, Shane, of Hollis, Oklahoma, Kailee Hardesty and her husband, Zac, of Yukon, Oklahoma, Austin Huff and his wife, Whitney, of Tipton, Oklahoma, Houston Huff of Tipton, Oklahoma, and Jordan Antolik and her husband, Brent, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his seven great-nieces and nephews, Daytyn Huff, Jerryt McKaughan, Warryn Huff, Annalyn Huff, Jentry McKaughan, Cooper Hardesty, and Rydge Huff; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of the family; and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, Marvin Huff; sister, Shea Ellyn Huff; niece, Jodi Huff; both sets of grandparents, Richard and Mattie Mae Huff, and Andy and Wilma Van Groningen.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Tipton or to the Tipton Senior Citizens in loving memory of Ryan D. Huff.
