Funeral service for Sallie Christon, age 87 of Snyder will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Snyder with Pastor William Dickey and Pastor Maurice Foard officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, east of Snyder, Oklahoma. Mrs. Christon passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in a Lawton hospital.

Sallie Christon was born on July 20, 1930 in Paris, Texas to Jack and Natalie (Berry) Dickey. She attended school in Paris, Texas. On May 6, 1982 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Christon in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death. She had worked as a cook at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder and Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Frederick for many years. Mrs. Christon was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She is survived by one nephew who she raised, Robbie Christon of Snyder, Oklahoma as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; Malcom, Jim and John Dickey; three sisters, Willie Simon, Allie Mae Stevenson and Lillie Mae Christon.
