Funeral services for Sammy Ray Johnson, age 70, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the First Baptist Missionary Church, 400 South 1st Street., Frederick, Oklahoma, with Dr. Rev. Al Kelly officiating.  Burial will follow in Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Sammy passed away unexpectedly the evening of October 6, 2023, at his home in Frederick.

Sammy Ray Johnson was born July 23, 1953, in Dallas, Texas to Samuel Lee and Evelyn (Bynum) Johnson. He attended Frederick Public Schools.  Sammy and Vergina Williams were united in marriage in 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Vergina of the home; his children, Sharonda Johnson of Arcadia, Oklahoma, Shelenee Cruz, Lorena Johnson, Lance Williams, Vickie Johnson all of Fort Worth, Texas, and Randall Rogan of Clarksville, Tennessee; three sisters, Patrece Stewart and Alette Johnson of Norman, Oklahoma, and Lesa Huff of Ohio; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Evelyn Johnson; his grandparents; and two sisters, Damita Johnson and Eunice Johnson.

A wake service will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel.
