Funeral service for Samuel Dewayne Franks, age 53, of Davidson, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Frederick with Rev. Joe Reyes officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Franks passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital in Baytown, Texas.
Samuel Dewayne Franks was born October 2, 1967, in Frederick, Oklahoma to Samuel Harrel and Helen Frances (Davis) Franks. Sammy attended Davidson Public School, graduating from Davidson High School with the Class of 1986. He later attended Woodland Trade School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On February 11, 2017, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Mary Boas at the First Baptist Church in Davidson, Oklahoma. He was currently employed with Turn2 Specialty Companies and was a welding plant supervisor. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time at the river. His family and grandchildren were his life. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooner Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Franks of the home; two children, Kaycee Minor and her husband Michael of Vernon, Texas, and Samuel Garrett Franks and his wife Hannah of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one step-son Joseph Clinton Palmer and his wife Jaden of Clinton, Oklahoma; one brother, Harrel Franks and his wife Sandy of Katy, Texas; three sisters, Dena Watts and her husband Russ of Cookeville, Tennessee, Lisa Inscore and her husband Allen of Davidson, Oklahoma, and Karla Monson and her husband Mark of Davidson, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Kambree Palmer, Austin Minor, Kiptyn Palmer, Aurora Minor and Samuel Franks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Frances Franks; one sister, Shirley Franks; and one brother, Clyde Franks.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Davidson Public Schools Alumni Association in memory of Samuel Dewayne Franks.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick.
