Funeral service for Samuel Theodore Mitchell, Jr, age 61, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, 201 East Grand, in Frederick, with Rev. Lloyd Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Mitchell passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Samuel Theodore Mitchell, Jr. was born October 27, 1958, in Lubbock, Texas, to Samuel Theodore and Bennie Walteen (Harris) Mitchell. He attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating from Frederick High School in 1976. He served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1983. On May 25, 2013, he and Isidra Ramos were united in marriage in Frederick, Oklahoma. Sam served as Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church for many years. He was presently working as a truck driver for Stout Trucking. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of Isidra Ramos-Mitchell of Frederick; his children, Samuel Mitchell, Jr. and his companion Megan Freas of Manitou, Oklahoma, Sasha Mitchell and companion Thomas Eppinette of Davidson, Oklahoma, Adrian Wright and his wife Amanda of Greensboro, North Carolina; Antoine Addison and his wife Amanda of Frederick, Oklahoma, Demetrius Addison of Lawton, Oklahoma, Xavian Wright of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kyla Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas; his siblings, Vanessa Mitchell of Dallas, Texas, George Mitchell and his wife LaDonna of Frederick, Oklahoma, Cynthia Wilson and her husband Gregory of Upland, California, Phyllis Carter of Dallas, Texas and Johnathan Mitchell and his wife Lashana of Dallas, Texas; his step-children, Maria Martinez, Gorge Martinez, Jose Martinez, Nora Martinez, Rosie Ibarra, and Jessica Garcia; twenty-five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; twelve step-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Bennie Mitchell; one daughter, Laterria Birdine; and two grandsons, Demetrius Newson and Issiac Addison.

A Wake Service will be Thursday, November 7, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Missionary Church, 400 South 1st Street, in Frederick.
