Obituary

Funeral service for Sandie Dale Cotten, age 62, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2023, at the Restoration Church, 1920 North 15th Street, Frederick, Oklahoma, with Pastor Zack Mitchell officiating.  Burial will follow at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mrs. Cotten passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Sandie was born July 7, 1961 in Vernon, Texas to Frank Leon and Evelyn Carol (Eppler) Sanders.  She attended Vernon Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1979.  She was united in marriage to Thomas Alton "Tommy" Cotten on October 24, 1980 in Frederick, Oklahoma.  Together, they had three children - Brandon, Blake, and Abby Dale.  That was the beginning of Sandie's lifelong passion of being a housewife and stay-at-home Mom.   In her Super Hero days, she was a school bus driver eleven years for Vernon Public Schools.  It was always amazing how many students she drove to school would quickly recognize her and call her by name while she was shopping or eating out!   Sandie was also a pharmacy tech working at local pharmacies in the area.  Above all, her greatest passion in life was being a devoted wife, Mom, and Lolo.  Her granddogs held a very special place in her heart.  She loved birds, butterflies, seashells, the color blue, and all the beauty that her Lord created.   She was a member of the Restoration Church in Frederick.

Mrs. Cotten is survived by her husband of the home, Tommy Cotten; her children, Brandon Cotten and his wife, Keli of Frederick, Blake Cotten and Ashley, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Abby Dale Flores and her husband Trevor of Frederick; four grandchildren, Brody Cotten, Braylee Cotten, Willow Flores, and Oakley Flores; one brother, Keith Thomas of Frederick: two sisters, Penny Newman of Frederick, and Hidy Abramson and her husband, Ron of Bozeman, Montana; brother-in-law, Jerry Cotten and his wife, Renee of Purcell, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, and her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Carol, stepfather Bob Griffith, father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Ruth Timberlake, brothers-in-law, Ricky Cotten and Tracy Newman.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 6th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home.
