Celebration of Life for former Frederick resident, Sandra Sue Calhoun, age 65, of Okarche, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick, Oklahoma, with Reverend Wendy Lambert of the St. Luke Methodist Church in Oklahoma City officiating.  Burial will follow at Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.  Ms. Calhoun passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Sandra was born on February 21, 1957, in Frederick, Oklahoma; she was raised by her parents Helen Bernice (Murphy) and Charlie Batson Brown. Sandra attended Frederick Public Schools graduating from Frederick High School in 1975.

Early in life, Sandra worked as a bookkeeper for the National Bank of Frederick and a police dispatcher for the City of Frederick. She then worked for the Frederick Press and later delivered papers for the Oklahoman. Sandra served as secretary for the Tesca Baptist Church in Frederick and later retired as station manager of the KSYE Christian radio station in Frederick.

Survivors include her son Douglas McAbee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Adelyn Grace McAbee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Debbie Gerhart and her husband, Joe of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; one stepbrother, Homer Brown of Lubbock, Texas; one niece, Michelle Lyle and her husband James of Woodruff, South Carolina; one nephew, Louis Watson of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Charlie Brown, her grandparents, and various aunts and uncles.
