Obituary

Requiem Mass for Sarah Gonzalez, age 93, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020, at St. Helen Catholic Church in Frederick with Father Joseph David officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Gonzalez passed away on Sunday evening, February 23, 2020, at the Memorial Nursing Center in Frederick.

Sarah Gonzalez was born November 3, 1926, in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Alfonzo and Cuca (Reyes) Delgado. She attended Elmore City Grade School and upon her family moving west of Frederick, she then attended Weaver Consolidated School. She was united in marriage to John S. Gonzalez on April 13, 1948, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Sarah worked at T.G.&Y in Frederick for several years. She also worked at Centra Leather Goods, where she made billfolds and clutches for twenty-three years until the factory's closing. She then went to work for Frybrant, Inc. until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Frederick and was very active in the St. Helen Ladies Altar Society.

She is survived by three children, Robert D. Gonzalez and his wife Mirna of Keller, Texas, Martha J. Secrest and her husband Kevin, and Donny Gonzalez all of Frederick, Oklahoma; two brothers, Joe Delgado and his wife Lupe of Minden, Nebraska, and David Delgado of Dewar, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Anita Delgado of Frederick, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Ginger Dearing, Stephanie Warren and her husband Trey, Rocky Koch and Chris Vail; and nine great-grandchildren, Sarah, Keely, Whitlyn and Elle Dearing, Morgan Warren, Izzy and John Koch, and Ian and Logan Vail; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; two brothers, Pete Delgado and
Manual Delgado; and three sisters, Blossom Flores, Josie Riviera, and Mary Delgado.

A Rosary will be held on Wednesday evening, February 26, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick.
