Obituary

Funeral Services for Scooter Bowman, age 71, of Crowell, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 West Gladstone, Frederick, Oklahoma, with Rev. John Holley, pastor of First Baptist Church of Crowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Bowman passed away Sunday morning, February 11, 2024, at his home in Crowell.

Harold Wayne Bowman was born on January 16, 1953, in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to George Lee "Buster" and Betty Jo (Pannell) Bowman.  He attended Grandfield Public Schools.  He and Sharon Ann Linker were united in marriage on March 4, 1983, in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Scooter was a tire man.  He was either repairing tires to get you the most miles possible on a set of tires or he would help you find the best set of tires for your needs.  Starting at A.J.'s gas station in Davidson, Oklahoma, he worked there for several years before moving to Vernon, Texas, to manage the tire department at Osborne's.   In 2008, Scooter went to work at Adkins Oil Company in Crowell and retired from there in 2018.    After his retirement, he enjoyed helping with the family show pig business.  His favorite pastime was spending time with his granddaughters, watching John Wayne movies. and he enjoyed listening to Elvis.   Scooter was a hardworking man who provided well for his family.

Scooter is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home; his children, Brandon Bowman of Crowell, Texas, Michael Bowman and his wife Tally of Crowell, Texas, Chrystal Bates and her husband Monte of Kingston, Oklahoma, and Gary Wayne Bowman and his wife Donna of Krum, Texas; six grandchildren, Kalie Michel and her husband Lee, Alyson Williams, Austin Williams, Jacob Bowman, Vaylee Bowman and Vexlyn Bowman; two great-grandchildren, Lane and Brylee Michel; and two sisters, Elaine Timms and her husband Chester, Mary Josefy and her husband Ronnie, all of Grandfield, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Betty Jo Bowman; his brother, George Lee "Skip" Bowman, Jr.; his sister and her husband, Joyce and Larry Keen; and his father and mother-in-law whom he loved dearly, A.J. and Betty Linker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Foard County Project Show, in care of the Crowell State Bank, in loving memory of Scooter Bowman.
