Obituary

Word has been received of death of former Frederick resident, Shirley Jean (Allen) Goynes, age 65, of Lawton, Oklahoma.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Mrs. Goynes passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Shirley Jean (Allen) Goynes was born on March 28, 1955, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Willie B. and Mary Ann (Shaw) Allen. She attended Kennedy Elementary prior to transferring to Frederick Public Schools with the Class of 1973. Shirley worked for many years as a nurse's aide and later had a day care center in her home. She enjoyed growing house plants, decorating her home and cooking for her family. She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Lawton.

She is survived by her step-mother, Pat Nolan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Tawanna Allen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one son, Claude Hill and his companion Kanisha Scott of Lawton, Oklahoma; five brothers, Charles Brown of Norman, Oklahoma, Jimmy Allen and his companion Nita Smith of Vernon, Texas, Terry Shaw and his wife Keyshia of Lawton, Oklahoma, David Allen of Lawton, Oklahoma and Ricky Shaw and his wife Rhonda of San Antonio, Texas; five sisters, Kimlan Lee of Frederick,  Oklahoma, Cleata Souffrant of Frederick, Oklahoma, Rita Osbourne and her husband Norberto of Lawton, Oklahoma, Erica Evaige of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Wanda Anderson and her companion Deltra Green of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Ta'Quilla Allen, Kali Hill, Claudarius Hill, Tiara Hill, Te'Asia Hill, Joshua Hill, Taija Hill, Timothy Hill, Jr. and Remey Hill; a granddaughter-in-law, Chloe Allen; one great-great-grand child Ja'Kylan Allen; a special aunt, Lola Carthorn; two special friends, Cheryl Bell and Glenda; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Shaw and Eric Shaw; one son, Timothy Hill; two grandsons, Jay Allen and Jamaal Allen.
