Obituary

Funeral service for Stella Garza age 71, of Davidson, Oklahoma will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, 201 E. Grand, Frederick with Rev. Les Banks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mrs. Garza passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her home in Davidson.

Stella Medina Garza was born September 17, 1949, in Bryan, Texas to Julio and Guadalupe (Garza) Medina.  She attended school in Bryan, Texas.  She and Ruben Garza were united in marriage on July 26, 1967, in Fort Worth, Texas.  Stella worked as a seamstress for Betsy Bra, Kellwood, and Frybrandt Manufacturing Plant.  Later she was employed by Walmart in Vernon, where she retired in 2012.  She was a loyal and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Davidson and loved the members like they were her family.

Stella loved her family and people in general.  She loved children and enjoyed babysitting all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and half the town of Davidson.  She was a proud Davidson Sandie, who supported her children and grandchildren's school activities.

She is survived by one son, Ruben Garza, Jr. of North Richland Hills, Texas; one daughter, Gabriella Miller and her husband Michael of Davidson, Oklahoma; one brother, Joe Medina of Bryan, Texas,  three sisters,  Vera Monsivais, Josie Medina, and Dora Vargas and her husband Griseldo all of Bryan, Texas; four grandchildren, Amber Boyd and her husband Kelby, Michael Minor and his wife Kaycee, Shane Minor and his wife Sarah, and Landon Vaughn; eight great-grandchildren, Elexia Townson, Toby Boyd, Austin Minor, Aurora Minor, Daphnie Sosa, Matthew Sosa, Leah Minor and Cameron Minor; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Lupita Medina; her father and mother in-law, Raymond and Adela Garza; one son, Roy Garza; and her husband Ruben Garza, who preceded her in death on January 31, 2021.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Davidson Cemetery Association, or the First Baptist Church of Davidson in memory of Stella Garza.

Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, mask and social distancing are suggested at the church and graveside services.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
