Memorial service for Stuart A. Smith Jr., age 70, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Les Banks officiating.

Stuart was born December 13, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Stuart A. Smith Sr. and Patsy Ruth (Newman) Smith. He grew up in Frederick, Oklahoma, where he attended Frederick schools and built lifelong friendships.

On May 4, 1984, he married the love of his life, Janice Carol (Wilson) Neugebauer, in Vernon, Texas. Together, they shared many wonderful years, especially enjoying traveling and taking cruises.

Stuart worked at Schlegel Systems, which later became Metzeler Automotive Profile Systems, BTR Sealing Systems, and eventually Henniges Automotive. He worked in various positions and worked in Information Technology (IT) at the time of his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked at Home Depot, where he enjoyed staying active and visiting with and helping customers.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. Stuart enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles, flying airplanes, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and his love of life. He had a true talent for music. He loved playing guitar and had an amazing voice. He was known for making the best brisket every Christmas.

Stuart is survived by his wife: Janice Smith of the home in Frederick, Oklahoma; three sons: Rick Neugebauer (Stephanie), of Mustang, Oklahoma, Darren Neugebauer, of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Chad Neugebauer, also of Yukon, Oklahoma; one sister: Jamie Reid (Bob), of Frederick, Oklahoma; six grandchildren: Rodney Neugebauer (Ashton), of Frederick, Oklahoma, Casey Reed (Jered), of Yukon, Oklahoma, Darian Rogers (Cody), of Lawton, Oklahoma, Dallas Neugebauer, of Yukon, Oklahoma, Chace Neugebauer (Heather), of Rockport, Texas, and Ty Neugebauer, of Lawton, Oklahoma; nine great grandchildren; nieces: Sarah Gunter (Jordan), Abbye Reid and Karin McKinley (Collin); nephews: Cody (Allison) and Clint Reid (Amy); and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Stuart A. Smith Sr. and Patsy Ruth Smith.

Stuart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
