Taffie L.
Howell
Sep 11, 1950 — Feb 23, 2024
Frederick
Private family viewing and visitation will be held for Taffie L. Howell, age 73, of Frederick, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 West Gladstone, Frederick, Oklahoma. Taffie passed away Friday evening, February 23, 2024, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Taffie Laverne Howell was born September 11, 1950, in Lubbock, Texas, to Ray Willard and Ruby May (Wilkins) Howell. Soon after graduating from high school, she enlisted in the United States Air Force. During her years of service, she was stationed all over the world; some of her favorite places being Alamogordo, New Mexico, Belgium, and the Philippians. She retired from the Air Force after twenty years of service.
Affectionately known as Nana, Taffie's favorite way to spend her time was tending to her great grandkids and treating them with her snickerdoodle confections. She enjoyed roosters, turtles, collecting antiques, and looking for rocks to paint. Crocheting was another one of Nana's favorite pastimes. She wanted all her family to have one of her crocheted afghans or blankets. She also never lost her love to travel from her Air Force days, and Taffie never missed the opportunity to take her brother, Skylar, to watch trains.
Taffie is survived by her three children, Veronica Hunt of Houston, Texas, Kimberly Neilson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Skylar Howell of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Bobby Jim "B.J." Hunt of Frederick, Oklahoma, Matthew Hunt and his wife Judy of Quanah, Texas, Angela Hunt and Raymond Molina of Frederick, Oklahoma, Timmy Hunt of Frederick, Oklahoma, Gary Neilson and his wife Natalie, Kaye Garner and her husband Ron, and Drake Neilson, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; twelve great-grandchildren, Kadance Hunt, Hagen Hunt, Xadien Hunt, Tinsley Hunt, Hunter Abrams, Chrislynn Abrams, Alejandro Molina, Taylee Hunt, Emma Neilson, Ryker Garner , Harper Garner, and Rowyn Garner; a sister, Sandi Evinger of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ruby Howell, a sister, Patricia Pierce, and brother, James Strickland.
