Obituary

Funeral service for Thomas Albert "Tom" Gaines, Jr. age 80, of rural Davidson, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2018, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery under the direction Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Gaines passed away Thursday night, December 27, 2018, at the Memorial Nursing Center in Frederick.

Thomas Albert "Tom" Gaines, Jr. was born January 26, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Thomas Albert and Annie Loyce (Dixon) Gaines. He attended public school in Shreveport, Louisiana. On November 30, 1955, he and Marsha Brewster were united in marriage in Lewisville, Arkansas. Tom farmed and ranched his entire life. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davidson where he was the music leader for forty-five years and taught the men's Sunday school class.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Gaines of the home; two sons, Tommy Gaines of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Craig B. Gaines and his wife Camille of Davidson, Oklahoma; two brothers, Steve Gaines and his wife Emily of LaGrange, Georgia and Kenneth "Butch" Gaines and his wife Pat of Krebs, Oklahoma; one sister, Pat Peeler and her husband Frank of Tyler, Texas; six grandchildren, Heather Duncan and her husband Chris, Trey Gaines and his fiancé Elizabeth Maldonado; Jennifer Clark and her husband David, Casey Marsh and her husband, Justin, Cayla Ellis and her husband Philip and Colton Gaines; eight great-grandchildren, Caitlin Caminetti and husband Zach, Andrew Guisti, Autumn Gaines, Tara Gaines, Ashlyn Ramos and husband Chris, Kade Marsh, Charli Marsh, and Stevie Ellis; three great-great-grandchildren, Kinzleigh Caminetti, Waylon Jones and Baylie Ramos and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ann Fritsch; one sister-in-law, Ruth Gaines, and one brother-in-law, Harry Fritsch.
