Weatherford
Graveside services for Todd Allan Lax age 32, of Weatherford, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2020, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Michael Logan officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Lax passed away Friday, March 20, 2020, in Weatherford.
Todd Allan Lax was born August 7, 1987, in Altus, Oklahoma to Carolena Evone Lax and Alrick Ramon Washington. Todd spent his childhood in Frederick, Oklahoma and Amarillo, Texas, until moving to Arlington, Texas, where he attended public schools. He graduated from Kennedale High School in 2005; and later attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Todd was and is many things to many people. He was the PROUD father of a beloved son, Tristan Aiden Apodaca-Lax, whom he loved more than life itself. Todd cherished his five brothers – was their ultimate fan and was the best big brother to them that he could be. Good, bad or indifferent, Todd used his life's lessons to teach and guide his brothers in the right directions, and encouraged them to excel in whatever they desired. He loved life and lived with an enthusiasm that only he could. He was the life of the party and was always concerned about others, before himself. Wise beyond his years, Todd touched many people in his short thirty-two years on this earth with his gift to gab and ability to connect to people from all walks of life. He never met a stranger and if you came to know him, he was sure to leave a lasting impression. His one liners will truly be missed. "Turn troubles into trophies.', "I may not win immediately, but I will definitely.", along with his latest "Is the fish ready?", are just a few of the sayings that we will miss coming from his fun-loving, crazy and witty self. Todd was proud to brag on his relationship with his Lord and Savior and was sure that his soul was saved; and although he will be truly missed, some comfort is gained by knowing that he is at peace. We know that Todd would like to thank Victory Temple Ministries in Fort Worth, Texas for leaving an everlasting imprint on his life and we as his family, too, are and will always be forever grateful. Todd Allan caught the train to the other side of glory on March 20, 2020, but his spirit, like a sharpie, has definitely left a permanent mark.
Todd is survived by his only child, a treasured son, Tristan Aiden Apodaca-Lax; his Father Alrick Washington and step-mother Maisha Washington of Arlington, Texas; Mother Carolena E. Gentry and step-father James Gentry of Fort Worth, Texas; five brothers, Rayshod Thompson, Garland Washington, Uniikye Washington and Kenaj Washington all of Arlington, Texas and Jacari Gentry of Fort Worth, Texas; a lone nephew, Gabriel Thompson; a very special god sister, Elysia; his grandparents, Rita and Charles Walker of Frederick, Oklahoma, Grandfather Lee Johnson of Dumas, Texas, and Grandmother Beverly Jones of Arlington, Texas; a VERY special great-aunt, Girtha Weakley of Frederick, Oklahoma; his aunts, Kacie Lax of Frederick, Oklahoma, Amber Lax of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tonja Washington of Arlington, Texas, Tanisha Washington of Los Angeles, California, and Latoya Washington of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his uncles, Damion Lax of Frederick, Oklahoma, Jeremy Lax of Frederick, Oklahoma, Marcell Washington of Las Vegas, Nevada and Damion Washington of Phoenix, Arizona, Rickey, Trey, and Blake Johnson all of Dumas, Texas; a very special set of twin cousins, "MeMe and Montre" of Altus and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of other aunts and uncles as well as countless cousins and friends.
Todd is preceded in death by his grandfather, Garland Washington; grandmother, Beatrice Hall; uncle Corey Lax; and aunt Rachelle Thompson.
