Funeral service for Velma Rogans, age 88, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2019, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick with Rev. Derrick Johnson officiating. Mrs. Rogans passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Velma (Sowells) Rogans was born May 24, 1930, in Larue, Texas to James Edward and Sarah (Green) Sowells.  She attended Larue Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Joseph "Jack" Rogans in Tipton, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death in April of 1960.   She was a certified nursing assistant working for Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Frederick and later transferred to the Memorial Nursing Center where she later retired.  She was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Joe Rogans and his wife Phyllis of Frederick, Oklahoma and Cary Rogans and his wife Avis of Pflugerville, Texas; a special daughter, Carolyn McGee of Frederick, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, Vivian Brundidge, Brian Brundidge, Josephus Brundidge, Patricia Brown, Velma L. Rogans, Cary L. Rogans, Vanessa Bird, Cary E. Rogans, Jr., Kimberly Brock, Tracy Jackson, Melissa Hendrix, and Adam Hendrix; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Rogans; and three daughters, Joyce Brundidge, Vivian McGee and Sarah Rogans.
