Walter A. "Pap" Peters, Jr. was born August 31, 1929, at Davidson, Oklahoma to Walter Allie and Alta (McKinney) Peters. He attended Wilson Consolidated #2 School and graduated from Wilson High School in 1947. He later served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the military, he came back and farmed and ranched in the Tillman county area his entire life. On March 18, 1960, he and Barbara DeLynn Gossett were united in marriage in Davidson. His family was his life; he was especially fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were his pride and joy! He loved the outdoors. After retiring, he would ride to the farm, just to get out and see the country side.
He is survived by his wife, DeLynn Peters of 56 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and David Hiebert of Edmond, OK; one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Lisa Peters of Davidson, OK; one brother, Jack Peters of Frederick, OK; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Hubert Harp of Vernon, TX and Jean and Bob Moss of Carlsbad, NM; five grandchildren, Cody Hiebert, Carlye Hiebert, Colby Peters and his wife Tarran, Ashley Snow and her husband Logan, and Taylor Peters; and two great-grandchildren, Estie Peters and Bodie Snow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Loys Ray; one brother, Frank Peters and one great-granddaughter, Everly Peters.
