Graveside service for Wanda Lee Hernandez, age 70, of Snyder, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Tipton Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Morgan officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mrs. Hernandez passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home in Snyder.

Wanda Lee Carter Hernandez was born on April 5, 1946 in Durant, Oklahoma to John Henry and Ruby Lee (Martin) Carter.  She was raised in Davidson where she attended school.  She later moved to Frederick.  She was united in marriage to Pedro "Pete" Velos Hernandez on May 28, 1961 in Vernon, Texas.  She was a seamstress and had worked at Betsy Bra, Centra Leather Goods, Frybrant, Inc. and Dollar General in Frederick.  She moved to Snyder in 1980.  Wanda was a Baptist.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie Cryer and her husband Danny of Tipton, and Brenda Hernandez of Snyder; two sons, Eddie Hernandez and his wife Amelia of Frederick and Jeffery Hernandez of Snyder; one daughter-in-law, Amy Hernandez of Frederick; one son-in-law, Ted Drury of Snyder; one brother, William Carter of Durant; four sisters, Patsy Sebree and her husband Lee of Frederick, Eunice Muniz and her husband Rosendo of Snyder, Linda Muniz of Snyder and Susie Stephens and her husband Luther of Durant; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband; one son, Lloyd Hernandez; one daughter, Melinda Drury; one great-granddaughter; Sara Cryer; and one sister, Carrie Southerland.
