Obituary

Graveside services for Wayne "Red" Lowe, age 84, of Tipton, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Tipton Cemetery, under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mr. Lowe passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at his home in Tipton.

Wayne "Red" Lowe was born March 11, 1938, in Davidson, Oklahoma to Christopher Columbus "Lum" and Gladys Rosie May (Wiggs) Lowe.  He attended Davidson Public School. On March 19, 1965, he was united in marriage to Kay Wheeler in Mangum, Oklahoma.

He served in the United States Army in Germany during peacetime. Wayne was a self-employed trucker for many years.

Wayne enjoyed carpentry work and spent many hours working on projects in his shop. Another favorite pastime was watching western movies. He was an avid collector of John Wayne memorabilia plates and diecast memorabilia trucks. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frederick.

He is survived by one son, Shawn Murray of Midwest City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Tami Waynette Castillo and her husband Martin of Yukon, Oklahoma, Shana Dawn Baker and her husband Kirk of Altus, Oklahoma, Wendy Karyl Miller of Tipton, Oklahoma; one sister, Patricia Ann Gifford and her husband Leroy of Tahlequah, Oklahoma;  eight grandchildren, Shawna Marie English and her husband J.D., Trea Herring and his wife Elaina, Kymberlin Luckett and her husband Kendall, Clay Castillo, Kody Baker, Kory Baker, Kaden Lowe, and Kenzie Miller; ten great-grandchildren, Easton Murray, Paisley Echelle, Lairmey Echelle, Pierce Barber, Coltyn Herring, Paytton Herring, Kayson Herring, Alianna Belle Luckett, Bodey Luckett, and Leilanni Sloniker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lum and Rosie May Lowe; his wife, Kay Lowe; one grandson, Eric Landon Murray; three brothers, Charles Clifton Lowe, James "Dude" Lowe, and Bill McGuire; seven sisters, Ermadean Maines, Betty Jean Lowe, Bessie Jared, Ida Mae Lowe, Doris Anita Lowe, Estrella Shaffer, and Barbara Lowe.

The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday evening, October 4, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home in Frederick, Oklahoma.
