Obituary

Funeral service for William Rob "Bill" Blankenship, age 66, of rural Frederick, will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Frederick High School Bomber Hangar with Rev. Brent Morey officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Blankenship passed away on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2019 in Frederick, Oklahoma.


William Rob "Bill" Blankenship was born on August 26, 1952 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Robroy and Norma Sue (Conditt) Blankenship. He attended Frederick Public Schools graduating from Frederick High in 1970. He attended Cameron University and later graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Education. On August 12, 1977, he was united in marriage to Patti Maines. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2012. He taught Agriculture education classes in Eldorado, Davidson and Frederick. Bill retired from Frederick Public Schools in 2014. He was a Master Mason and a Perpetual Member of the Frederick Masonic Lodge #249 in Frederick, Oklahoma and a member of the Frederick Lion's Club. Bill received the Frederick's Most Useful Citizen in 2015 and was also given the Honorary State FFA Degree. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frederick. Bill did not just touch the lives of his kids, but all the kids he came in contact with.


He is survived by one daughter, Blair McMillin and her husband Beau of Edmond, Oklahoma; one son, Bob Blankenship and his girlfriend Maryann Rosenberry of Frederick; one sister, Brenda Challacombe and her husband Tommy of Frederick, Oklahoma; one brother, Brad Blankenship and his wife Coni of Enid, Oklahoma two granddaughters, Madison McMillin and Bailey McMillin of Edmond, Oklahoma; two uncles, Edgar Hamm of Frederick, Oklahoma and Dr. Jerry Blankenship of Enid, Oklahoma; step mother-in-law, Kati Maines of Frederick, Oklahoma and step father-in-law, Burl Dooley of Grand Prairie, Texas; nieces and nephew, Haley Huddleston, Natalie Blankenship, Jonrob Challacombe, Causby Challacombe, Ivy Epps and Tobin Mateychick.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patti Blankenship; father-in-law, James "Jug" Maines.
